At the start of 2018, I worked with Smart Mouth Family Dental to draft up a culture document for their company. The goal was to actively define and create the culture rather than passively waiting for their culture to establish itself.

After I completed the document, we held a company event for Dr. Benjamin Hill, the Founder, and CEO of the company, to present and expound on each culture point. This article comes from my notes from his speech.

Dr. Benjamin Hill is a dental entrepreneur who has bought and sold over 20 dental practices since graduating from Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. He stepped into practice ownership immediately after graduation, hoping to secure a simple life as a small-town dentist. He soon outgrew his small-town dreams and began a model of buying practices, training new associate dentists, and allow them to l buy their office after a few years of mentorship.
